The same also began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But Priscilla and Aquila, having heard him, took him to themselves, and expounded to him the way of God more accurately.
After these things, departing from Athens, he came to Corinth. And, finding a certain Jew, Aquila by name, a native of Pontus, having recently come from Italy, and Priscilla his wife (because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart out of Rome), he came to them; and, because he was of the same trade, he abode with them, and they labored; for by occupation they were tent-makers.
And Paul, abiding after this yet many days with the brethren, having taken leave of them, was sailing away to Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shaven his head in Cenchrea; for he had a vow. And they came down to Ephesus, and he left them there; but he himself, entering into the synagogue, reasoned with the Jews.

But, when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul, and brought him to the judgment-seat, saying, "This man is persuading men to worship God contrary to the law."
